Moved into a new room this month.

The yurt had some crazy landlords, I couldn't hang!

But, it all worked out for the best.

I love decorating.

Made a terrarium for my nightstand!

Oh, and my nightstand used to look like this: (Gross!)

So I painted it Yellow!

Next I'm going to spray paint my alarm clock (that I've had since elementary school!) baby blue. And, Take the shade off of the lamp, toss the lamp body, cover the shade with my fabric, and hang it from the ceiling so that I can put my alarm clock where my lamp is, freeing up space on my nightstand!

And, I found this super cool Book iphone charger.

So I made one, for FREE!

I turned the phone so I can see it from my bed.

Oh, herro 2012. Yeah, I took January off from blogging. Needed the break! But that doesn't mean I haven't been busy. I have a couple of secret projects I've been working on like crazy. And, I started a new blog. One where I post whatever I want. I love it. Will I link to it? No! But if you want to find it here are two hints: It's on Tumblr and it's awesome!

Congrats to Shannon in Ramona, CA for winning my giveaway. I'll be sending you a couple yards of my PinWheel fabric here soon.

I've noticed this linen texture pattern fabric popping up everywhere, so I jumped on board. Not really my style, but it was a fun experiment.

I'm not sure how much I'll be posting on here. Kind of busy with other projects. Going to try to make it to Seattle in May for a gallery opening my work will be displayed in. Haven't shown in so long.

Monday morning I woke up to a dead laptop. Slap a tag on it's toe, that fucker's finished. I bought a desktop this time. I own CS3, but it isn't compatible with my computer's new interface, bummer. I have to try to register it and upgrade, $500 to CS5 before I can make any new designs. But, I already blew my load getting the new computer so, I may not have any new designs for a couple of months. It'll be nice to have the design break as long as I don't go crazy! I've been making shitty designs lately, I need to clear my head. A good mushroom trip should help.

Everyone's seen this by now, but I'm posting anyway.
It makes me wish I liked Pearl Jam.

I've worked for a non prof for the last (almost) two years. We donate to the Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics every week. The SBNC provides excellent healthcare for those who don't have health insurance. They held a recognition dinner last night at the Biltmore. I'll start off by saying this: The Biltmore is off the hook! You have to be crazy rich in order to stay there. But, it looks like they hired the Golden Girls to decorate their Ballroom! So hilarious! So much peach!

We ate a four course meal and drank way too much wine. We had, by far, the funniest tables. We threw down. It was totally fun.

Today's design is from a comic I started making. I'm not a comic artist, but my Grandma inspired me to try. See the letter below that I sent to Adult Swim to have a better understanding.

My grandma's a total cunt. Like, snarls at everyone, climbs on top of cars if they're parked blocking the side walk. She loves bland food and is mostly anorexic but with a front butt. Her voice is high pitched and nasally, like, I'd rather hear nails on a chalk board. And, her first name rhymes with Poon. So I started calling her (not to her face) Poon Tang Sigler and drawing her as a giant cunt. My 30th birthday is quickly approaching! Since I can't afford to travel to somewhere amazing to celebrate I've decided to do something monumental here at home, a 30 day cleanse and design marathon. I'm going to spend the last 30 days before I turn 30, juicing green veggies, eating healthy foods, and designing my pants off! I also want to relax as much as possible, soak up the sun, and exercise. These are things that I try to do constantly in my everyday life, but for the next 30 days I want to dive into them. I'll also be abstaining from alcohol (not that I drink very much as it is, but still, it seems appropriate). Toward the end of the 30 days I will hopefully being doing mushrooms. It's been far too long since I've eaten them and I'm looking forward to the spiritual and emotional benefits from them.

*Well, I returned home from work today to find two large bills, looks like I owe around $700 for various medical expenses. Lucky me. I really thought this whole financial rape thing was about over, boy was I wrong! So, I'm going to try to eat healthier but it's so crazy expensive! And I'm not much of a drinker, but there's nothing like getting slammed with non stop bills to make you want to take that hobby up, but, I will not be doing that. I've stopped going to yoga more than once a week and when my classes run out, it looks like I won't be able to renew :( serious bummer. I'm looking into selling my car and buying a van and a motor for my bike. That way I can move into the van and save on rent and use my bike as my main form of transportation. Isn't poverty fun!

My mom sent me the VHS of Some Like It Hot that I used to watch growing up.

I know the entertainment industry is saturated with the skinny girl look, but it really hits home when you see Marilyn Monroe. Like, I could see her elbow fat in one scene. She actually had elbow fat. She had a belly too, thighs and arms! It's incredible that her shape was once sexy in Hollywood and today she would be cast in roles as the quirky chunky girl married to an obese man. I'm torn, it would be amazing to live during an era where a realistic body image is considered sexy, but sexism was so prevalent then that you wouldn't have freedom. Is the "skinny girl" modern man's last attempt to trap and hold women down? Or am I just exhausted, nostalgic & not thinking clearly? (Did I just have a Carrie Bradshaw moment? I think it's time for bed.)

On a good note, I quit one of my jobs, down to 2 ;) and finished planting my veggie garden today. My parents are sending me a juicer as an early birthday present, this way I can juice my way to 30. Literally, the last month of my 20's I will be living on juice and juice alone, mostly green veggie. I start on the 25th of this month. It will be weird to be 30. I've gotten so used to being in my 20's, but I can't say that I'll miss my 20's, what a tough, confusing, and struggling time. It's strange that I've accomplished nothing that I thought I would have by 30. I'm a bit lost, in life and for words.

I've been meaning to post about

why I am Dolphin and Condor

and not Zebra and Eagle or Chubacobra y Burro.

The name found me when I was living in Chicago, working as a Visual Merchandiser at Forever 21. My boss told me about a certain stock guy who worked about 4 hours a month, smelled like cat piss, and read people's power animals. I was interested, I needed to know what my power animal was!

So, the next time he was working, my boss had to beg him, literally, to read my power animal (he claimed that reading power animals drains his energy). He walked toward me and told me to look him in the eyes. He proceeded to shake and quiver his body while his eyes rolled. Then he told me "You, you have two power animals." At this point everyone Oooed because, this is rare to have. "The first animal is a dolphin, because they are a free spirit that goes with the flow." Ugh, I thought, a freaking dolphin, lame! "The next animal is a condor, because they are also free spirits, but they have an edge." I thanked him and was surprised by how well the descriptions fit me, even though this guy had never seen or spoken to me before. Then he said "I'm a black wolf and my fiancee is a dolphin, ha! Wonder how that's going to work out?"

The Dark Stripe

I've been craving dark stripes. This is still too light. I want stripes that are almost black but you can still distinguish the color differences. I wanted to post this though and I'm running out the door, but I'll be adding more soon. I can't rest until I have my stripes noir!

I planted some seeds today for lemon trees, apple trees, and orange honeydew, which are mouth watering! I made the pots from newspaper, inspired by my Friend Kate's friend's blog Bonzai Aphrodite, which is ah-mazing!

This blog is full of delicious food and ideas! I'm going to start making my own water keifer/kefir (I've seen is spelled both ways) soon too!

I've been slacking on PostCrossing, which is why I'm surprised to have received this postcard the other day! I cropped out a section of the wall for it's subtle static feel.

If you've noticed my posts becoming far and few between it's because my computer is slowly dying, taking my heart and soul with it. First, it became slow with large repeats. Now, it's slow with any size design.

I'm planning on cleaning it out, hopefully with more free space it will speed up, but the underlying issue is with the logic board, a $750 problem. Queue the sad trombone.
